Through music, this video serves as a rallying cry and a call to action. It is a protest song, lamenting the inequalities in education, health care, justice, human rights, and many other areas that affect the lives of Black people. "No mother should have to tell her baby that others will avoid him, judge him, hate him, just for the color of his skin. What kind of world are we living in?" It urges us all to get up, to take action, because "it's not enough to just stand by."  KarmaTube

The Freedom to Vote Act (S. 2747) and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (S. 4) are both transformative pieces of legislation that set national standards to protect access to the ballot box, neutralize partisan and racial gerrymandering, protect our elections from interference, increase transparency in campaign finance to prevent dark money from buying our politicians, and more.

Call 833-345-2551 and tell your Senators how critically important voting rights are to you and to our democracy. Ask them to do whatever it takes to pass the Freedom to Vote Act (S. 2747) and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (S. 4).

Hello, my name is _[NAME]_ and I am a constituent from ___[TOWN/CITY]__. As a person of faith, I believe that the right to vote is sacred and rooted in the human dignity of each person created in the image of God.  I ask you to use every possible tool at your disposal to ensure passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the Freedom to Vote Act. If Senators fail to protect democracy by guaranteeing the sacred right to vote, they deny our shared dignity and ultimately fail to uphold their duty to serve their constituents.

Listen to Vandana Shiva: Reciprocal Care Will Give Us a Future
She holds on to hope that we can collectively bring Earth back into our imagination—that we can return to the ideas and actions that inspired her work in the Himalayas back in the 1970s: Indigenous ways of being in relationship with and protecting the Earth. This reciprocal care is what will give us a future.
