On Wednesday, January 19th, the Senate blocked progress on the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act after hours of debate.
As Dr. King said, “Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom.”
That is why we need you to call your Senators, express our disappointment in the Senate's failure to advance this critical legislation, and remind them of your strong support of the
Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act to be made law!
If your Senators supported the bill, please say thank you and tell them that we will continue the struggle until we pass the bill. If they did not, ask them to reconsider and urge them to defend our democracy and ensure all voices are heard at the ballot box by supporting the Freedom to Vote: John R Lewis Act.
